Mexico Day 1

On our 1st full day in Mexico we decided to go to Chitzen Itza. The weather forecast for the day said it would be stormy and lightening showers, so we decided it was the perfect opportunity to take our rental car, Jorge, for a 2 1/2 ride and see what he had. When we got there, it was anything but rainy.

Here we are by the biggest of the structures in the area. It was all roped off so we could not climb or go into anything there.

This pillar was falling over so Cass had to hold it up.

This was Cassidy's favorite

Since I know everything there is to know about Mexican history, we did not get a tour guide. I don't think we missed out on too much. It was pretty neat to see all of this and make the Book of Mormon come alive a little more. There were so many Mexicans selling their goods all over the place. They all said the same thing "very good price for you today" "better than wal-mart, cheaper than k-mart" (I'm sure they all have been to both!)

During our ride home it did rain for about 20 minutes (the only rain we saw the entire trip)
