Nate had a conference in Boston the first of November, so we decided to take advantage of it! His work finished on Thursday, which was the day I flew in.
On Friday we spent most of the morning moving hotels and getting settled. Later that afternoon we took a tour of Fenway Park. We had a great tour guide that had loads of insight and stories. By the end of the tour I had become a baseball fan!!
Right behind home plate
On Saturday we completed the Freedom Trail. It was amazing and stretched over 2.5 miles. We were tired by the end but history came alive for us!
In front of the State Capital
Paul Revere statue
The graveyards we spectacular along the trail, we could've spent hours there. This is in front of Paul Revere's grave stone
The Old Meeting house where the Boston Massacre took place. It was neat to see these old buildings in the middle of town.
At the USS Constitution Museum. This is the oldest boat still in commission, they take it out each 4th of July to shoot of fireworks. We loved getting to "walk the plank" on the ship.
We decided to end our trip by starting off at Harvard University. It's a beautiful campus with such personality!
I loved these chairs scattered in the common area for the students to enjoy!
The John Harvard statue. Student touch his left shoe for good luck, can you see it's shiny from rubbing it?
We then went back into downtown Boston. This is in front of the Public library. This is also where the Boston Marathon bomb went off.
In front of "Cheers"
At the Public Gardens
The Red Sox had just won the world series, so this is George Washington wearing a jersey. This statue was in the Public Gardens.
For dinner that evening we waited about 45 mins just to get a seat in this restaurant. It only sat 20 people and the chief cooked right in front of you.
It was worth the wait, Nate said it was his best meal while being in Boston!
We had a great time and appreciate Nate's family and my mom for driving up to watch the boys!! We were also lucky to get some hook up with Nate's work to cover some of the cost of the trip. We can cross this off our bucket list and enjoy all the fun pictures we took!! Thanks Boston!!
