For the last several years we have been hearing about the annual ice cream challenge that our friends the Young's have with their family. It has always sounded so fun and we've wanted to try it with the Hansen's. My parents had given everyone ice cream machines for Christmas a few years ago and most of us had not even open the boxes.
For Labor Day we decided to host the 1st Hansen Ice Cream challenge. We had 7 entries. They were all good. We felt pretty good about our cake batter ice cream. As we started the tasting we knew that we had some stiff competition,but still felt that we had a pretty good chance of taking home the hardware and the pride that comes with beating the pants off everyone.
As we started the counting, we realized that it was not meant to be. In the end Ashli took it with a chocolate mint concoction.Hopefully she save the trophy and we have a chance to win it back next year!
