He's here, he's here!!!! Marshall. Grant. Hansen. What a great way to start 2016!! Dr. Orr said I could schedule my c-section as early as January 4th, but we decided we wanted him to have a fun birth date so we waited until 1-6-16!! We didn't need to be at the hospital until 9:30am, so we sent Bridger off with the carpool and dropped McCoy off at preschool. We arrived at the hospital and did all the prep and he was deliverer at 12:02pm. Weighing in at 7lbs 1oz. and 20 1/2 inches long.
While Dr. Orr was getting ready to pull him out she said over the sheet, "your uterus wall is so thin, it's like a window, and I can see the baby. That's not suppose to happen" I immediately asked if this had to be our last one? She didn't reply. We later talked with her about it. She said she double enforced that part of the uterus wall with stitches and we needed to at least wait 18 months before we even try to get pregnant. And we would need to deliver much earlier to prevent me from getting so big. So I guess we have plenty of time to decided if our family is complete:)
A first for us was getting to have the baby with us as soon as he was born. With Bridger and McCoy they were rushed away with Nate while I laid there by myself. It was so fun for us to all be together and for me to get to experience all the "first" with them!
While we were waiting for me to be transferred back to the room and I'm laying on the table. Nate told me that the 1st name could be Quaid if we went with Maverick as a middle name. The other option was Marshall Grant. That night I couldn't decide if I was okay with that. But the next morning I told Nate I could live with the name Quaid Maverick, so it was now up to him... That evening we sent out a text introducing everyone to Marshall Grant Hansen.
Grant and Cathy took the boys after school and then brought them to Lone Peak hospital after dinner. They all held Marshall and loved on him. It's was really fun to watch them check out a tiny baby.
Nate was able to take off some work so we enjoyed being home as a family of 5. The next week, my mom came up and ran the house for me, it was great!!
Within a few weeks my dad dropped in and so did Grandma Kathryn, Aunts, Uncles and cousins. He's one loved boy!!
We couldn't be more excited to have Marshall join our family and have him arrive safe and sound. We are so blessed to have three handsome boys!!
