During the first week in March we got to go with a few of our friends from MarketStar to Maui. Shaun Koos and I ran promotion for the HPE resellers around AMD servers. We met a small group of these partners along with some of our clients for a week of fun in the sun.
Grantpa and Grandma Hansen were kind enough to watch Bridger and McCoy for us while we were gone. Marshall joined us and was an angel the entire time. He pretty much slept the entire flight out there and also the entire flight home. During the trip he just hung out and smiled at everyone. We could not believe it.
We stayed at the Grand Wailea which was fantastic. On the first morning I went with some of the group to the top of Haleakala to watch the sun rise. We had to get up at 2:00 am, but it was worth it. After the sun came up we biked 25 miles down to the bottom of the mountain. We spent the rest of the day hanging out by the pool until our welcome dinner with the rest of the group.
The next day a few of us went whale watching in the morning. It was neat to see the whales, but wish we had seen more. We rode out to molokini crater to snorkel which was also ok. On the way back to the hotel we stopped for snow cones, which were fantastic. We then had a great dinner with the group.
On Saturday, Cass and I went out to Kaanapali beach, which was Cassidy's favorite, and Lahina to check things out. We loved walking around the town, going in the stores and of course EATING. That was a great day, we came back to the hotel and hung out on the beach with our friends and then went out to dinner.
On Sunday we were supposed to fly home around noon. We went to the North Shore and checked out the surf and then headed to the airport. We were there in time, but by the time we got through the slow line, we were told that we were not there in time to check in our bags. LONG story short, we booked a flight out for 9:30 that night and had some time to kill. We grabbed a new rental car and hit the road to Hana. We had a good drive and made it to the 1/2 way mark, but Cass got car sick and we headed back. It looks like 1/2 is all that we are destined for.
It was a great trip and we can't wait to go back again next year. I cannot understate 2 things: 1. We are very lucky to work at MarketStar. They treat us so well and the friends that we have made there are wonderful. 2. Marshall is the worlds greatest baby and we are so lucky to have him on our family!
