The first weekend of February some friends of mine from the ward decided to hop on a plane and explore some of Texas. I'm a huge fan of Fixer Upper (Chip and Joanna Gaines) and have been wanted to go to their store in Waco, Texas. I was able to rent one of the Fixer Upper houses from season 1 through Airbnb. It was just as great as it appeared on TV.
Friday morning we headed straight to the Magnolia Market, and boy did it not disappoint. It exceeded my expectations!! We shopped in the store, enjoyed the lawn in front of the silos and devoured cookies/cupcakes from the bakery! We then went to Spice Village to do more shopping, I was able to find fun souvenirs. We had a yummy Mexican lunch and then explored the Dr. Pepper museum. Later that night I saw the movie Hidden Figures while the rest saw La La Land(which I had seen and really liked).
Saturday morning we borrowed bikes from the house we were staying at and rode along the Brazos River. It was a bit chilly but still fun. We then went and did an Escape Room. It ended up being really enjoyable and we only needed another hour to complete it ;)!! We went back to Spice Village so our group could buy matching Waco shirts. I had already bought one at the Magnolia store so mine was different from everyone else. We then had a fun photo shoot together on the Waco Suspension Bridge!! We then drove to Dallas for the night.
Sunday we headed to the JFK 6th Floor Museum, I didn't know much about the assassination so I learned a great deal. We stood in the grassy knoll to see the x on the road where JFK was shot. We also saw the JFK memorial. We then enjoyed the Bishop Art District for lunch and more shopping.
It was a dream trip with friends that I love and laugh too hard with!! Thanks Jene, Natalie, Mindy, Jenny and Julie for the unforgettable trip!!
