Mesa Verde

Last week we had the best time exploring Mesa Verde National Park with the Sincich's!!! We headed to Cortez,Colorado on Wednesday morning. We stopped at Balance Rock Cafe in Helper for lunch and the Monticello Temple. We rented an amazing house through Airbnb, it was huge and beautiful, the kids especially loved the built-in card table!! We roasted s'mores and got settled the first night.

First thing Thursday morning we headed straight to Mesa Verde. We walked through the museum and the Spruce Tree House. We then had tickets to tour the Balcony House. We had to climb a huge ladder, which was really scary. It was amazing to hear stories and enjoy the beautiful views so high on the cliff. After lunch we toured the Cliff Palace, this is probably what Mesa Verde is most famous for. It was huge, it's hard to believe people really built such a spectacular village.
We  stopped at a Mexican restaurant on the way home and enjoyed some intense games of KanJam and Nate assembled the projector for the kids to watch a movie that night.

On Friday, our first stop was Four Corners.  There was a long line & we had to wait in to take our pictures, but while one person waited in line the others could shop the cute booths that were set up. After lunch we drove to Hovenweep National Monument. There wasn't much to see there but we enjoyed a short walking trail around the monuments.
Mindy and I took the kids swimming at the Cortez rec center later that afternoon, I think this was some of the kids favorite part (what!?) That night we played Pie Face, group card games and had yummy rootbeer floats.

We had such a great time and were sad to see it come to end so quickly!! We made a quick stop at Wilson arch on the way home. We love the Sincich family and look forward to lots more adventures together!! Now school starts, noooo!!!
