Portland couples trip

We just got back from the best trip with our friends, the Sincichs. It is always so fun to get together with them! We had spent some time planning this trip out and had a long list of things we wanted to do in Portland.

When we landed, we hit the ground running! From the airport, we went lunch and then the Pittock Mansion at the top of the hill. We had a great time laughing about the famous James Pittock. We then went to Powell's books for Cass and then the "Worlds Smallest Park." After that we hung out at the water front for a while and talked about how we had just knocked out about 1/2 the things we were planning to do on our 5 day trip! We were nervous! We went and found some grub and headed to our townhouse for the night to play a raging game of Canasta.

In the morning, we headed out to Cannon Beach. The weather was awesome for us to check out the beach and haystack rock. The town was extremely picturesque. We were by far the youngest people in town. We checked out Hug State Park while we were out there, ate fish n' chips and checked out some tide pools. Then we headed back to Portland and had dinner at Cams favorite spot from China, Din Tai Fung. It was awesome! We were back to the house just in time to watch Survivor and eat ice cream.

The next day (Thursday), we got up early to head to the Columbia River Gorge. We were excited to see all the falls. Even though it was a bit overcast and rainy, it was a great day! There were tons of falls to see out there. We hit up Multnomah falls, Starvation creek falls, Horsetail falls, Ponytail falls, Wahkeena falls, Bridal Veil falls, and Lotourell falls. It was a busy morning with a lot of walking. On the way back we stopped at the Crown Point Vista house to check out the Columbia Gorge from the top.

On Friday we headed out to the temple to check it out. Cass and Mindy wanted to go see Downton Abbey, which just came out. Cam and I did not mind having a couple hours to find a golf course and hit a quick 9. After lunch, we went to 23rd street to see all the shops and ride around on scooters. We stayed there for dinner as well.

The next morning we headed to breakfast before catching our flights home. It was such a great trip. So much to see and so much good food! Portland is defiantly a food lovers paradise. Lots of great restaurants,  doughnut shops and ice cream shops. Its amazing that on the 1st day we were worried about what we were going to do, because we were running all over the place the whole time. Super thankful to be able to go on trips with good friends and see how awesome our country is. Now on to talking Cass into a road trip to bring the boys back there in the next couple years...
