Well, its happened, the sky is falling and the world is ending. In mid-March a global pandemic called COVID-19 struck and turned our world upside down. We don't really have a full understanding of what is happening but our lives are suddenly dramatically different.
Schools are suddenly at home as we are not really allowed outside the house. Our boys are doing school online via Zoom. Work is now fully remote. We suddenly don't leave our house for anything but needed groceries. Basic things that we need are all gone. Its almost impossible to buy things like toilet paper and cleaning supplies. Every time I leave the house with my mask and my gloves, I feel like I'm stepping into a movie. There is an eerie feeling everywhere you go. To make things worse, a couple of days after the lock-down started, we started having Earthquakes in Utah. It really does feel like the end of the world!
Trying to keep spirits high and staying positive is a full time jobs. Hopefully we can get back to normal soon. Its been really hard on the boys, but we are so grateful for their resilience. They talk to their friends on Zoom since we can't see them. We watch movies together. We've spent more time and done a much better job doing Come Follow Me. Not being in school is rough. The teachers did a parade where they drove around and all the families came out to waive at them and cheer for them and all they are doing for us. Our ward also did a car parade to welcome home and wave at all the missionaries who were suddenly sent home....it's a crazy and unbelievable time!! It has been awesome to see how people have adapted to Covid and making the most of it!
Amidst all of this, Marshall is ready to ride a bike on his own. It was so fun to learn with him. As we were going around the neighborhood he was giving himself a boost by saying "I can do this!!!" over and over again. It was so cute and awesome to watch his confidence grow as we went.
