Cottonwood Canyon Road and Kanab

We have been planning a trip through Cottonwood Canyon to Buckskin Gulch and Wire Pass for several months. The day before leaving on our trip we found out that the canyon was 9 feet underwater from the snow melt and had to call an audible.

We left with the Fords on Friday and headed to Kodachrome Basin, after a quick hike we headed towards Willis Creek for camp. We found an awesome campsite overlooking the valley. The next morning we looked for the Willis Creek Narrows, but could not find them...next time. Then we headed down Cottonwood Canyon Road. Along the way, we stopped at another narrow path that ran a couple of miles along the road. Once we got down to Kanab we stopped to hike the toadstools, the sand caves, belly of the dragon, and eat lunch before finding our next camping spot.

We found another great spot by a water tower that had 360-degree views. The next morning we checked out another slot canyon before coming home. It was a quick trip, but maybe better than the one we originally planned since we were able to bring Marshall and Abe's younger kids.

There is so much cool stuff to check out in Utah, we'll never get sick of exploring.
