I've been busy this Summer with the Trailblazer Leadership camp at Utah Tech and Girls Camp.
I love getting to work with my Dad and the other advisors from around the State. I feel like each year helps me know the ropes better and it gives me more confidence in how the camp works. We saw Charlie and the Chocolate Factory this year. Me and my Dad were able to sneak away to dinner with just my Mom and Andrea. It was nice to just have the four of us for a change.
I had been trying to make it work for the girls to go rafting in Moab for most of the year. It cost more money than the budget had but we asked the girls and adults to donate $75. There was some pushback since they haven't asked for funds in the past but it was worth it!! We all had a great time and I love getting to spend time with the young women. On the first day, the winds were extremely intense and it made it difficult to raft/move upstream. We eventually made it back to camp and then discovered 4 tents were ruined from the wind. It can only go up from there right??!? and it did, the girls actually talked about the wind/difficulty the most in their testimonies. The youth are learning they can do hard things!!
