We had a busy July being awesome like bacon:
- Bridger, McCoy and I backpacked to Indian Springs on the front side of Timp. It was a bit rainy when we got up there, but we were rewarded with an amazing sunset. We played cards in the tent, ate Subway at camp, and drank from the spring. It was a great quick night.
- For the 4th, we went to Lagoon with the Browns and the Connaughton's. The boys have been asking to go for several years. We were not sure if it would be over crowded for the 4th, but it was ok. We had a great time and other than the newest ride (Primordial- Super long lines, lame ride) we got through most lines pretty fast and rode all the rides in the park. Marshall surprised us by keeping up with the big kids and rode them all! That night we hung out with the Jacobsmeyers and played pickle ball while the fireworks went off all around us.
- The next day, Cass and the boys all went to Splash Summit with the Browns. What a great couple of days!
- Cass and I were planning on going to Kenny Chesney with the Leifsons. 5 minutes before we were going to buy our tickets, Bryan Beall called me with an offer for his Veteran discont. 6 tickets for $25!!! My parents joined us and we had dinner with Mike and Melissa before heading to the show. Kenny was good, but not great. My parents looked miserable the whole time. They said it was their last concert...
- Marshall and Quaid had swimming lessons with Abby. She is leaving for her mission in a few weeks, so this is it! The boys have loved her and are going to miss her for sure.
- For the 24th we went to the Mapleton Days Parade. Like always, we sat at Dougs house in the shade. His girlfriend made the best cinnamon rolls, we made pancakes and sausage. Grandpa Howell rode in the parade again, this time with a stuffed monkey.
- Cass and Shawna took the kids to play at the Dry Creek Park. They had a great time and I'm sure they'll be back.
- We've been chipping away at our summer bucket list. Crossed off sleep on the tramp and visit the Bean Museum/ BYU creamery off our list.
- Benson got home from his mission! We got to go to the airport and welcome him home. He has been serving a mission in Tennessee. He came home on the 24th and we went to the Clowards for fireworks that night (their son Nate also got home from his mission the same day and we saw his family at the airport).
