Fourth of July

Landon and Mary's apartment is right on the Provo parade route, so we decided to join them. Grant went early and made breakfast for us to enjoy while we watched the parade.
Later that afternoon we had Maggie come play in the sprinklers with the boys, they don't play very often so it was a nice change!
That evening we went to Grant and Cathy house for a BBQ and fireworks. After dinner some of us went to Mike and Melissa's house because they had  just put a zip-line up in their backyard. It was my turn and since none of the other adults(Mary being 3 months pregnant) didn't wear the kids harness, I insisted I didn't need to wear it either. I jumped off the platform and as soon as my weight hit the line I fell about 14 feet to the ground. I landed on my feet and instantly fell to the ground. My breathe was taken away and I knew I was going to be sore for a few weeks in my lower back and my stomach. I didn't cry but wanted to, I was trying to be brave for the kids and adults around me. After a while I didn't feel like I was going to pass out or throw-up so we headed back to the Hansen's. After a few minutes I went into the house and started crying and told Nate we should probably leave. The boys did fireworks with the neighborhood while I laid down in bed.
I ended up having diarrhea all night and after eating breakfast I threw up. So I called Nate home from work since I thought I had squished my insides and might have internal bleeding. The Instacare said we needed to go to the ER. The ER took a CT Scan and determined that my internal organs were fine but I had broken 3 bones in my lower spine. The brakes weren't close to my spinal cord, so I didn't need surgery or have any major concerns. I would need to wear a back-brace for about 8 weeks and try not lift or bend.
We were so blessed that my injuries weren't worse and I should be 100% in 8 short weeks and that my bones will heal on their own!!! Nate left the next morning for 5 days to Alaska. The Hansen's helped me a bunch and then my mom came up on Thursday night to stay with us until Sunday when Nate came home. While my mom was here the air conditioner broke on the main floor and we were miserable!! It didn't get fixed until Tuesday. It was one of the worst/hardest week of my life!! My mom took the Bridger and McCoy with her for a few days and Mike helped watched them. Nate was able to work some from home and the sweet ladies in my neighborhood would come put and get Marshall out of his crib for me. We are blessed with great friends and family!! "This too shall pass"
