My mom turned 60 over the summer and we wanted to celebrate her!! We decided to go on a girls trip to San Antonio, Texas. We went the second weekend in October hoping it would be perfect weather but it was still quite warm. It didn't rein the fun for us though!
After checking into our hotel we headed for some dinner on the River Walk. We ate at the Yard House, a restaurant that was suspended over the river (the glass windows that says "Now Open) it was really cool. We then enjoyed some ice cream while we watched the boat tours.
The next morning we visited the Alamo. We stayed about 1 block away, it's right in the middle of downtown, I had no idea. We went to the Tower of America's and ate lunch at the restaurant at the top. It was yummy food and I loved that it rotated around so we could get a great view of the whole city. We then took a riverboat tour of the River Walk. The boat-ride and lunch were probably my favorite parts of the trip. That night we took public transit to the Pearl District. We ate dinner at La Gloria and dessert at Lick. Andrea had Hazels Pumpkin Pie and Dark Chocolate with Olive Oil and Sea Salt. Mom had Carmel Salt Lick and Chocolate Texas Sheet Cake and I had Carmel Apple Cake and Sweet Potato Pie. It was recommended by Ashli and it didn't disappoint.
On Saturday we went to the Mexican Market, we didn't find a ton of treasure but we found souvenirs for the kids. We then had Mexican food for dinner on the River Walk. Such a great place to people watch!!
On our final morning we took one last excursion before we fly out to the Japanese Tea Garden . It was beautiful and a perfect quick morning trip. This was such a great trip, we had never done a girls trip before but I think we'll be doing more in the future. Hope to take the family here someday!
