School is out and it has been a great year!
To wrap up the year, the 4th grade does a handcart trek. It is something that the kids look forward to all year. Bridger was so excited for his trek. Unfortunately the weather was not great. It had rained the day before but cleared up that morning. However, the clouds came in and dumped freezing rain on them. I happened to be working from home. Their plan was to leave Shelly, go up behind Hunter Park and eat lunch and then go back to the school. When I drove up to check up on them it looked a lot more like the Martin handcart company than a merry group of elementary kids. Every was huddled together and tons of the kids were crying. I grabbed Bridger and a couple other kids and we got out of there. He was able to go back to the school later and do some pioneer activities.
Next was the dance festival. the 4th grade always does a square dance. Bridger did great. The 2nd grade danced to "Can't Stop the Feeling." It's always fun to go to the dance festival and watch the kids be with their classes.
After the last day of school, we took the kids with all the contents of their backpacks and had a big fire at the Hansen's.
It really has been a great year. Both boys loved their teachers. Ms. Walker was warm and fun. She was so nice to Bridger and taught him so much. She even taught them about 90's pop culture. We hope our other kids get her. McCoy really liked Mrs. Cummings as well. She was a little more stern and had high expectations but McCoy insists that she was super nice.
Bring on summer!
