Great Basin National Park

I've been wanting to go to Great Basin for a few years. Its a close enough National Park that we wanted to check it out. On the way out, we stopped at Little Sahara. We wanted to play on the dunes, but it was 100 degrees and crazy windy! so we moved on. We passed Sevier Lake. It was even windier there.

We got to Baker, Nevada, shortly after and were lucky to find a place to camp for the night. Still a bit windy, but we shot BB guns, made dinner, and had a fire. The next day, we got up early ,to get tickets to Leeman caves (which ended up being super lame) and drive to the top to see Wheeler Peak. One of the big draws of the park are the bristlecone pines, which are the oldest trees in the world. we hiked a couple of miles to see them, and they were pretty neat. We went to find a nicer camp spot, only to find them all full. We felt incredibly lucky to get our original spot again and camp for the night. A highlight for me was I brought my harmonica and jammed out with my dad by the fire. Its something I've been excited to do with him for a few months since starting to learn to play.

I love that I get to camp with my boys and my dad. Even in a not-so-great National Park, we had a great time!
